William is better known as a producer around these parts, but directed his first test commercial in May this year, which went on to win Silver at the CFP-E shots Young Director Award at the Cannes Lions! It’s an exciting result and we’re really proud to be standing up against fierce competition on an international stage.
“It was about exploring wild places and seeing beautiful things and arriving at the conclusion that you’d led a life well lived. The car you drove was partly responsible for that, so it became a lesson – when the man finds what he’s looking for, he hands over the car so that the next man can begin the search for himself. Suddenly it was a car ad and the only thing it needed to fulfill that was a set of keys.”
